DUBAI 17 July 2018: Three people died and eight others were injured in a horrific traffic accident on Emirates Road.
The accident occurred at 8 pm on Emirates Road towards Sharjah between a minibus carrying people that hit a truck, resulting in the death of three passengers and injuries to eight others.
Brigadier General Saif Mazrouei, Director of Public Administration at Dubai police, said that preliminary information indicated that the cause of the incident was due to not leaving sufficient distance between the vehicles, which led to the bus ramming into the truck.
He said that immediately upon receipt of the communication, traffic patrols rushed to the scene of the incident and organized traffic to facilitate access for ambulances and rescue vehicles.
Brig Gen Al Mazrouei, urged drivers to follow traffic rules, and use caution while driving, leaving sufficient distance between vehicles and easing speeds to ensure safety for all.
