47°C Bad Weather: Sailors, motorists be aware

Wind, wave warning issued

ABU DHABI 2 August 2018: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), has issued a wind and wave warning over the Arabian Gulf.

In a statement to Wam, the centre said fresh northwesterly winds will arise with speeds of 45 km/hr, and rough seas with wave heights reaching four to six feet of western areas of the Arabian Gulf.

On Thursday, it will be hot in general and hazy at times during daytime – with mercury forecast to hit 47°C.

Some clouds will appear eastwards maybe convective by afternoon. Light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times, causing blowing dust over some exposed areas.

Relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over some coastal and internal areas, with probability of fog and mist formation.

Sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.
