70+ dead in Pakistan train fire, UAE condoles

ABU DHABI 1 November 2019: More than 70 people are said to have died in a fire that ripped through a moving train in Psksitan,

Winesses said that it took over 20 minutes for the train to stop.

A gas cylinder blast has been quoted as a possible cause of the fire on the train from Karachi to Rawalpindi.

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan sent a cable of condolences to President of Pakistan Arif Alvi, expressing sympathy over the deaths of the massive fire that broke out on a moving train in Pakistan’s eastern Punjab province Thursday.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, sent similar cables to President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan, said Wam.
