DUBAI 25 October 2017: A Pakistani allegedly forged a letter of offer and a labour contract of his former employer and conned a woman of Dh9,000 claiming he was arranging a work residency for two of her relatives.

The Dubai Criminal Court heard that on August 1, 2015, AZ 33, clerk, met SA, 33, at Al Twar Centre and Paid him Dh9,000 for employing her sister and a relative in the company where he works.

“I give him my sister’s and relative’s documents and pictures and after 15 days he emailed me letters of offers in their names. He also sent her a photocopy of a labour card application that carried her sister’s details. I called the company to check with them and was shocked to learn that they did not issue any offer to her sister. I also learnt that the accused had left his job a year ago,” she testified.

She tried to call the accused but in vain. So, she reported the crime to the police.

The victim submitted letters signed by the accused stating receiving Dh4,000 and Dh5,000 from her.

The court will give verdict on November 14.
