ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has announced the partial closure of Corniche Beach to carry out required works in preparation for the Mother of the UAE Festival, and verify the readiness of public facilities.
The partial closure of Family Beach (Gate 1 and Gate 2) and Lagoon Beach will be in three phases:
- Phase I began on February 20 and finishes on March 25
- Phase II starts from March 26 and finishes April 4, and
- Phase II starts from April 5 and finishes on May 5
The municipality has erected signs on the beach to inform beachgoers of the closures and advise on the latest developments regarding the recreational facilities in order to provide the best services.
Although a large area of the beach is closed, the remaining parts will stay open to receive beachgoers and offer normal services during the closure.
The Corniche Beach is a favourite rendezvous for families and children in particular, thanks to its high standards of safety and security and attractive amenities.
