Abu Dhabi Sports Council to organise cycling race

8 to 78 kilometres races for different age groups

ABU DHABI 4 May 2017: The Abu Dhabi Sports Council will organise next Friday’s Al Wathba Cycling Championships at the Al Wathba Race Track for distances ranging from 8 to 78 kilometres for different age groups.

The race is part of the council’s efforts to promote the culture of sport, achieve sporting interaction for all social groups, and raising awareness on the importance of sports.

Khaled Al Qubaisi, Senior Project Manager at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said that organising the community cycle race reflects the continuation of the council’s ambitious plans to raise awareness about the importance of sports and support various segments of society.

He added that the Abu Dhabi Sports Council is very keen to promote the culture of cycling in the Abu Dhabi community, to motivate everyone to participate in sports and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
