2015 New Year’s Eve
Dubai was part of the massive roll-out of the 2016 with New Year’s Eve celebrations tarting off in Sydney and rolling west to Dubai and moving on to New York where the celebratory fireworks were being telecast live at Time Square.
However, at around 9 pm, a fire broke out on the 20th floor of the hotel. Dubai Mall was also evacuated as a precaution.
According to Dubai Media Office, 14 people were slightly injured and one was moderately injured. One person had a heart attack during the evacuation.
