ABU DHABI 2 March 2019: Adnoc Distribution has celebrated the opening of its first service station in Saudi Arabia, in the presence of Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

The service station on the Riyadh-Dammam highway around 40 kilometers from the capital, began operating at the end of November 2018. It was followed – days later – by the second in the city of Hofuf within Al Ahsa Governate. Both stations underwent extensive reconstruction.

“Our new stations in Saudi Arabia are performing above expectation,” said Saeed Al Rashdi, Acting CEO of Adnoc Distribution. “There is strong volume coming through them and clearly Saudi customers are enjoying the Adnoc Distribution experience. We have already alluded to our ambitions in Saudi Arabia, and look forward to becoming a familiar brand here.”

The UAE Ambassador stated, “The important bond between Saudi Arabia and the UAE is deeply rooted in our shared history and close allegiances between the countries. This relationship sets the foundations for both countries to join forces to work together across many industries to contribute to the development of both nations.”

The ceremony, conducted at the station, was attended by senior officials, said Wam.
