More airline delays due to unpredictable weather on Sunday?

Don't take your yacht out to sea just yet

DUBAI, 26 March 2017: Further flight disruptions are expected on Sunday as the weather system is projected to remain unpredictable.

On land, be careful in the wadis – and on the roads. You may see flash flooding due to the rains.

And don’t take your yacht just yet out to sea. It will be a very rough sail.

Thunder, lightening, gusty and rainy conditions are likely t0 continue from a rain-spoiled weekend into the start of the working week in the United Arab Emirates.

Yesterday, 15  inbound flights were diverted from Dubai International Airport, DXB, and a number of outbound flights were delayed due to weather conditions, according to the Dubai’s airport operator.

“Dubai Airports can confirm that normal operations at DXB have been disrupted as result of weather conditions persisting since last night. A total of 15 inbound flights were diverted to neighbouring airports, while a number of outbound flights were also delayed owing to the disruption,” Dubai Airports said.

With the backlog and today’s expected stormy-at-times weather, passengers may face delays and diversions.

However, the airport authorities said: “The comfort of all passengers is our top priority and Dubai Airports is working with airlines and our other stakeholders to minimise inconvenience to our customers and normalise operations as quickly as possible”.
