DUBAI 29 May 2018: Two Emirati boys who jumped into the Dubai Canal – and one of their friends – have been arrested, according to Dubai Police.
The charge is that of endangering lives.
It is hot in the UAE and a group of youngsters went down to the pedestrian bridge over Dubai Canal. One of them stripped down to his shorts.
Another wrapped his kandoora around his body. Both climbed over the railing and to the cheers of friends, the kandoora-wearing boy did a back flip into the cool waters of the Dubai Canal while his friend in shorts dived in feet first.
During the back-flip, the head gear of the boy in kandoora came off.
Dubai Police were not amused when the clip went viral on social media.
They apparently tracked down the boy who posted the clip and managed to arrest the two other boys.
