DUBAI 10 April, 2017: More than one million students returned to classes from Sunday across the UAE – ending days of relative easy traffic on the roads in the city.

Morning and afternoon motoritits will now have to cope with the school buses competing for space on city roads trying to get more than a million students to schools on time.

Reopening of schools in the UAE on Sunday, marks the start of the third and final semester of 2016-2017, amid preparations by the Ministry of Education to ensure better school environment.

In a statement, the ministry called on administrative and teaching staff to create an appropriate atmosphere for students, by honing their enthusiasm and motivation to begin their final term with more preparedness to achieve the best results.

It stressed the importance of the students’ readiness and determination to achieve their academic ambitions through perseverance and diligence, and to do their utmost to attain the highest scientific grades.

4 New Books

The ministry also announced the launch of four new textbooks in the third semester, as part of the Social Studies and National Education Curriculum.

These include:

  • ‘Sard Al That’ by H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, issued by Al Qasimi Publications
  • ‘Protecting Youth Against Destructive Ideologies – UAE as a model’ by Dr. Farouq Hamadeh, Adviser at the Crown Prince Court – Abu Dhabi.
  • ‘Sustainable Development – UAE as a model
  • ‘Social Media Network from Tribe to Facebook’
