Branson, Sulayem launch hyperloop cargo firm

DUBAI 1 May 2018: DP World and Virgin Hyperloop One are partnering to launch futuristic and  ultra-fast global hyperloop company for cargo – DP World Cargospeed.

The announcement on Queen Elisabeth 2 luxury hotel liner was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, along with Richard Branson, Chairman of Virgin Hyperloop One and Sultan bin Sulayem, Chairman of DP World.

The new company will provide exceptional service for high-priority, on-demand goods, delivering freight at the speed of flight. It will support the fast, sustainable and efficient delivery of palletised cargo.

Sultan bin Sulayem said “Dubai has always pushed the boundaries of innovation. We have made a significant investment in Virgin Hyperloop One because we see the need for a hyperloop-enabled cargo network to support rapid, on-demand deliveries globally.
