Cops look after kid whose parents were in Dubai jail

DUBAI 18 September 2019: The Dubai Police General Headquarters has sponsored an Asian child providing treatment, housing and education until the end of his parents’ imprisonment in financial cases.

Brigadier General Tariq Mohammed Noor Tahlak, Director of Naif Police Station, said that the mother of the 4-year-old was serving her sentence in the Dubai Women’s Prison. His father also had financial problems that led to jail. In the absence of relatives, Dubai Police, in coordination with concerned authorities, provided him with shelter.

Brigadier Tariq explained that the child lacked identification papers because of the financial problems of by his parents. He needed immediate treatment for a skin disease, in addition to stuttering while talking.

The team looking after the child reached out to Latifa Hospital where he stayed for two weeks until he was fully recovered. He was then transferred to the Dubai Charity Foundation for the care of women and children, who are teaching him and developing his speech and speaking abilities.

Meanwhile, the child’s mother was released from prison and took her child pledging to take care of him. The father of the child also came out of prison, and received a new job to ensure him and his family a decent life.

The child’s parents, after serving their sentence and receiving the child, came to the Dubai Police to thank them for the humanitarian gesture towards their child.
