Coronavirus case discovered in Abu Dhabi: Haad

ABU DHABI 12 April  2017: The Health Authority Abu Dhabi (Haad), has announced a positive case of the MERS Coronavirus, MERS-CoV. The case is receiving the medical care required.

Haad confirmed that it is coordinating with the Ministry of Health and Prevention, Mohap, and other relevant governmental entities, and has taken all necessary measures as per standards and recommendations from the World Health Organisation, WHO.

To help prevent respiratory illnesses, Mohap has advised the public to wash hands often with soap and water, use hand sanitiser if the former is not readily accessible, cover the nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing and throw the tissue into a rubbish receptacle.

ABU DHABI, 21st June, 2016 (WAM) — The Health Authority – Abu Dhabi has announced a new case of Coronavirus (MERS-CoV), which is reported as receiving all necessary medical care.

The Health Authority, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, health authorities and competent departments, has taken all necessary precautionary measures as per international standards and recommendations from the World Health Organisation.

HAAD announces death of MERS Coronavirus patient

ABU DHABI, 27th January, 2016 (WAM) — The Health Authority – Abu Dhabi (HAAD), the regulatory body of the healthcare sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, announced today that a 73-year-old has passed away after contracting MERS Coronavirus (MERS-CoV).

The patient was reported earlier this month as the first confirmed case of MERS Coronavirus. The second reported case was a contact of this patient with no symptoms who cleared the virus and has left the hospital.

The authority, in coordination with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and other medical authorities nationwide, has taken all necessary measures as per international standards and recommendations from the World Health Organisation (WHO).
