Abu Dhabi Executive Council Committees inspect Al Ain Housing projects
ABU DHABI (WAM) — A delegation from the Infrastructure and Environment Committee and the Social Development Committee inspected workflow at a number of ongoing housing projects in the city of Al Ain, including the Jebel Hafeet and Ain Al Fayada residential projects.
The delegation was headed by Falah Mohamed Al Ahbabi, Chairman of the Infrastructure and Environment Committee, and Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Chairman of the Social Development Committee, along with members of both committees, and high-ranking officials from the Executive Committee Office and relevant government entities.
Members of the delegation were given an overview of the infrastructure work underway at both developments, which include sewage, rain water drainage systems, electricity networks, as well as an integrated road network linking the projects to the existing main roads and neighboring areas. Infrastructure work also includes laying down the foundations for future tunnels, bridges, road junctions and traffic signals.
The visit falls in line with the government’s keenness to follow-up on vital developments taking place in the emirate. It also aims to achieve the Emirate’s vision and the Abu Dhabi Plan’s objective, to cater to the needs of community members by providing them with integrated urban areas that fulfill their requirements and ensure a decent quality life, in support of the sustainable development in the country.
Falah Al Ahbabi expressed his delight with the progress being made towards the completion of both projects.
He said: “The projects are the largest and most important housing developments in Al Ain city, and consist of 5,000 residential units at a total cost of Dh9 billion. Our visit reflects the approach pursued by the Abu Dhabi Government, to follow up closely on all developments and inspect workflow on site. It also embodies the government’s commitment to provide support and effective supervision of these projects, by meeting with developers to ensure timely completion of such projects. We take pride in our wise leadership, which gives top priority to ensure stability and well-being to citizens and families, who are the pillars of any nation’s progress in the present and the future.”
Saif Badr Al Qubaisi noted that the visit to the Jebel Hafeet and Ain Al Fayada residential projects in the city of Al Ain aims to examine workflow and projected completion, presently at 92 percent.
Al Qubaisi stressed that the Abu Dhabi government diligently endeavors to achieve its vision and implement the Abu Dhabi Plan, by ensuring a well-rounded and decent life for citizens, via integrated communities and housing options to meet the requirements of Emirati families.
The Jebel Hafeet project consists of 3,000 residential units, with sophisticated modern architectural designs that provide for a decent life. The first phase of the project consists of 2,000-housing units, each covering about 3.72 square meters; the Ain Al Fayada units cover about 450 square meters each., The project includes schools and nurseries; as well as mosques, clinics and health centers, commercial centers and other facilities and public amenities that meet residents’ needs.
