Do not park your car near the Dubai Marathon route

DUBAI 25 January 2019: With Dubai Marathon 2019 today, Dubai authorities have appealed to residents not to leave vehicles on the roads surrounding the marathon to allow passage for emergency services.

The marathon starts from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm. Residents are asked to follow the instruction signs and stick to the designated roads to get to their destination.

Some 30,000 runners are set to take to the streets as the Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon returns.

The marathon has three categories:

The Dubai Marathon 4K: Traffic will be halted on Umm Suqeim Street next to the Dubai Police intersection, the Madinat Jumeirah intersection, and King Salman Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street.

The Dubai Marathon 10K: Traffic will be halted on Umm Suqeim Street next to the Dubai Police intersection, the Madinat Jumeirah intersection, and King Salman Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street up to Dubai Media City.

The Dubai Marathon 42K: Traffic will be halted on Umm Suqeim Street next to the Dubai Police intersection, the Madinat Jumeirah intersection, and King Salman Abdul Aziz Al Saud Street up to Al Naseem intersection.

During Dubai Marathon 2019, RTA will provide transit routes on both sides of Jumeirah Road and King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Road.

It said: “On marathon day, we recommend not stopping the vehicles in the streets around the event site to keep the racers safe and to open up space for emergency vehicles.

City Walk Partial Closure

Meanwhile, the RTA announced that there is a partial closure on Al Mustaqbal St. in City Walk area due to the Street Festival which will commence for 4 days, starting yesterday until January 27.

All commuters are advised to take following alternative roads to reach your destination easily
• Al Badaa Street
• Al Wasl Road
• Al Safa Street
