Dubai confiscates almost 300 tonnes of rotten food

DUBAI 25 May 2018: Dubai Municipality, DM, announced today that it has confiscated around 294 tonnes of foodstuff found unfit for human consumption.

DM said that unlicensed vendors were apprehended while trying to sell the putrid food for workers living in labour camps in Muhaisnah, Warisan and Jebel Ali areas.

Faisal Al Bideiwi, Head of the Market Management Department of DM, has said, “From April 2017 through April 2018, we have also arrested 2266 unlicensed vendors, 19 car washers, 35 butchers and 449 beggars.”
