Dubai Creative Cluster Authority gets Al Habbai as DG

Dubai Ruler appoints Abdullah Al Habbai Director-General

DUBAI 19 June 2017: In his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued Decree No. 26 of 2017 appointing Abdullah Ahmed Al Habbai as Director-General of Dubai Creative Cluster Authority (DCCA).

This decree is effective from the date of issuance and will be published in the Official Gazette, said Wam.

Abdulla Al Habbai is Chairman of Dubai Holding and also Group Chairman of Meraas and Chief Executive Officer of the Engineering Office – The Private Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed, a post he has held since 2004. Al Habbai is also Chairman of Dubai Parks and Resorts, Dubai Hills and Valiant Healthcare. He serves as the Deputy Chairman of Rove Hospitality and is a board member of several leading private and government entities in Dubai, including Dubai Real Estate Corporation (DREC) and Museum of the Future. Abdulla Al Habbai is also the CEO of Shamal.

Dubai Creative Clusters Authority was formed to foster Dubai’s creative industries to establish Dubai as a global innovation hub. In 2014, Sheikh Mohammed issued “Law No. 15 of 2014 concerning the Creative Clusters in the Emirate of Dubai”.
