A new municipal services office in al-Awir, and a women’s fitness club in al-Lusayli area are to be built, following the approval of their contracts by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Municipality.

The contracts are worth Dh15.6 million for construction of the new projects, the Municipality said on Sunday.

The two eco-friendly buildings, which are part of a government strategy to improve services, were designed to meet green building standards, Director-General of Dubai Municipality Hussain Nasser Lootah said.

The approval of the projects by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid, who is also the UAE Minister of Finance, was based upon recommendations from the municipality’s technical committee.
