DUBAI, 1 January 2018: The Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs in Dubai has launched an initiative entitled, “Workers Happiness” on the eve of New Year.
The initiative will involve the participation of workers in the New Year’s reception by providing huge screens to broadcast the celebrations at Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
Major-General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, GDRFA, in Dubai, and Chairman of the Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs in Dubai, said that the initiative, sponsored by Emaar Properties, targeted 500,000 workers in the Muhaisnah 2 and Al Quoz areas, and is part of the celebration of the “Year of Zayed”, which was announced by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
“On the sidelines of this initiative, Beit Al Khair Society will take part in the distribution of meals to workers in the areas where the screens are located,” bin Suroor said.
He added that the initiative is part of the committee efforts to continue organising such events to appreciate and make workers happy.
The event will be broadcast live by Dubai Media Incorporated.
