Dubai’s new 763ha community coming up in Umm Nahd

DUBAI 4 October 2017: The Dubai Municipality has announced that it has completed all necessary procedures to plan a new residential area for citizens in Umm Nahd-3 on the Dubai-Al Ain road with a total area of 763 hectares, 7,626,080 sq.m.

Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said that the new announcement coincides with World Population Day, which is being celebrated this year by the United Nations under the theme, “Family Planning: Empowering People, Developing Nations”, to raise awareness on population issues, including their relations with the environment and development.

Lootah said that while planning the new residential area, it has taken into account the aspects of urban sustainability and the creation of a healthy environment for the residents by encouraging them to practice daily sports as there will be dedicated tracks for bicycles and pedestrians, in addition to sporting fields.

He added that the municipality will soon distribute the housing to citizens, who have been approved by the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment.

Dawoud Al Hajiri, Assistant Director-General of the Municipality for Planning and Engineering Sector, said that a single plot is about 1,100 sq.m., and the housing unit will be Ground+2
