Dubai Police recover Dh3 million stolen by security personnel

DUBAI 14 May 2017: Police in Dubai succeeded in recovering Dh3 million in cash robbed from a money transport vehicle by six security personnel from same company that operates the vehicle, a senior police official said Thursday.

The gang of six Asian employees was nabbed by the police in record time before they could smuggle the money out of the country, said Assistant Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Investigation Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, said Wam.

The vehicle was robbed in an area under the jurisdiction of Al Muraqqabat police station. The culprits were caught in a house located in the Rashidiya area and money recovered, he noted, stressing that the robbery was pre-planned.

Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri emphasised that Dubai Police are highly capable of dealing with all crimes efficiently.
