Eid holidays in UAE: 9 days for public sector; 5 for private

Holidays begin on 9th

The UAE’s public sector will enjoy 9-day holiday while the private will have 5-day break during Eid Al Adha next week.

The public sector will be closed from September 9 to 17 including two weekends while private sector will have holidays from September 9 to 13 including  two-day weekend.

According to Article No. 74 of the Federal Law No.8 of 1980 concerning labour relations, Saqr Ghobash, the Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, declared a three-day holiday, which will cover both occasions, Arafa Day and Eid Al Adha.

The minister congratulated the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Members of Supreme Council, Their Highnesses Rulers of the Emirates.

Ghobash praised the people of the UAE and the residents on this occasion, wishing the UAE, all Arab and Islamic countries further progress and prosperity.
