Eid Today: UAE leaders offer greetings

Sunday is the first day of Shawwal

ABU DHABI 24 June 2017: The moon-sighting committee in UAE has announced that tomorrow, Sunday, will be the first day of the month of Shawwal and the first day of Eid Al Fitr.

The committee, headed by Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi, Minister of Justice, said that after a number of legitimate measures, as well as several contacts with neighbouring countries, it was established that Sunday is the first day of Shawwal, marking the first day of Eid Al Fitr in the UAE, said Wam.

Al Badi and the committee members extended greetings to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Their Highnesses Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates and Crown Princes, as well as the people of UAE and Muslims.

UAE leadership extends greetings to Arab and Muslim leaders

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has dispatched congratulatory cables to Heads of State of Arab and Muslim countries on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.

In the cables, H.H. Sheikh Khalifa wished for continued good health and wellbeing for the leaders, further progress and prosperity for their peoples, and further glory for the Arab and Muslim Nations.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, sent similar cables on the occasion to the Arab and Muslim leaders.

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince congratulates President, VP and Rulers 

ABU DHABI: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has congratulated President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

He extended his best wishes of continued good health for H.H. Sheikh Khalifa and prayed to Allah Almighty for the return of this blessed occasion.

Sheikh Mohamed also extended his best wishes and Eid al-Fitr greetings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.

Sheikh Mohamed also extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to leaders of Arab and Muslim countries.

Rulers and Crown Princes greet UAE President, VP and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince

In the cables, H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi of Sharjah, H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman, H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi of Fujairah, H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu’alla of Umm Al Qaiwain, and H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras al-Khaimah, expressed their best wishes for continued good health for Their Highnesses, and for further progress, glory and prosperity for the Emirati people and Arab and Muslim nations.

Their Highnesses the Rulers also sent similar congratulatory cables to Heads of State of Arab and Muslim countries. They wished for continued good health for the leaders, and for further progress and prosperity for their peoples.

Their Highnesses the Crown Princes of the five emirates also sent congratulatory Eid al-Fitr cables to Their Highnesses Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
