Emirates flies A380 to Warsaw in Poland

Marks four years of operations to Poland

DUBAI (WAM) — Emirates A380 touched down at Warsaw Chopin Airport on Friday as the airline’s flagship aircraft made a one-off visit to Poland. The special flight, operating as the scheduled EK179 service, was arranged to commemorate the fourth anniversary of the launch of the airline’s scheduled services between Dubai and Warsaw.

The special flight touched down at 11.20am Warsaw time, and was welcomed by hundreds of well-wishers that watched from the airport perimeter. The flight deck crew were Captain Yunis Al Marzouqi from the UAE and First Officer Tomasz Lubaczewski from Poland.

Airport executives, VIPs, trade partners and the media were given a guided tour of the double-decker aircraft by members of the Emirates cabin crew, once the aircraft docked at the airport terminal. The guests had the opportunity to see the amenities provided for passengers, including the first-class suites, shower spas and the onboard lounge.

Poland became the airline’s 129th international destination when it launched the route in February 2013. The new scheduled flights opened new opportunities for business, trade and tourism, and strengthened ties between the UAE and Poland. It also forged a long-term partnership between the two countries.

Emirates has carried over 700,000 passengers on the route over the past four years, and has provided vital links for both Polish and UAE businesses through the quick and efficient shipment of goods by its cargo operations.

Emirates A380, operating as EK179 to Warsaw, left Dubai at 8.05am and arrived in Warsaw at 11.20am local time. It then serviced Flight EK180 on the return journey, which departed from Warsaw at 2.50pm and landed at 11.30pm in Dubai.
