Heroic Emirati woman saves Asian truck driver in flames…

Mohamed bin Zayed, Ajman Ruler honour Jawaher Saif Al Kamiti

ABU DHABI 3 October 2017: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, yesterday received, in Qasr Al Bahr, Jawaher Saif Al Kumaiti, to honour her humanitarian actions and her bravery, heroism and quick thinking, which saved the life of an Asian driver.

The driver was involved in an accident that resulted in his truck and clothes catching fire, but Al Kumaiti acted quickly to save his life, by using her friend’s ‘abaya’ (cloak) to put out the fire.

Sheikh Mohamed praised the heroism of Al Kumaiti while expressing his appreciation and pride for her spontaneous humanitarian act. He added that this act is not unusual for the children of Zayed the Giving, who were raised and educated by the teachings of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose legacy is being followed by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Al Kumaiti explained that her actions could be considered a first-class humanitarian act, as she was raised on love and giving and a belief in rescuing those in need, through the ideology of the country and the wise leadership.

She expressed her appreciation to Sheikh Mohamed and his generous gesture to receive her, confirming the desire of the UAE’s leaders to support and encourage the country’s citizens, to love, give and rescue those in need, in any place and under any circumstances.

AJMAN: H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, yesterday honoured Jawaher Saif Al Kamiti for her humanitarian efforts and her bravery, heroism and quick thinking, which saved the life of an Asian driver.

Al Kamiti acted quickly to save the driver’s life after a road collision, which caused his truck to burst into flames and his clothing to catch fire.

Sheikh Humaid expressed his pride in the humanitarian role of Emirati girls in helping others while praising the good citizenship of Al Kamiti, who acted quickly to extinguish the fire on the truck driver’s clothes without hesitation and saved his life.

During her meeting with Sheikh Humaid, Al Kamiti explained that her actions could be considered as charity and humanitarian work as she rescued a person in dire need of assistance.

She also stressed that she did not hesitate for even a moment while saving the driver’s life and did not leave the area until she was certain that his condition was stable. She also wished for greater safety among all members of society and road users.

The ceremony was attended by several sheikhs and senior officials.
