Emirati’s life sentence upheld; killer woman gets 5 years

ABU DHABI: The Federal Court of Appeal in Abu Dhabi, on Wednesday, upheld the life sentence handed down to an Emirati youth, identified as A.M.H, for attempted murder.

The court also ordered confiscation of the car involved in the incident, the communication device and the closure of the social media platforms used in committing the crime, according to Wam.

In another case, an Emirati woman identified as M.S.S., was sentenced to five years in jail after being found guilty of murder.

Communication devices were seized and websites used in these crimes were closed by the authorities, as per the court ruling.

The court also ordered that a number of accused in state security cases be sent to rehabilitation and counselling centres, and be banned from travel for six months from the date of the verdict.
