
DUBAI 17 October 2018: Two cars were rescued from flash floods in a wadi after the rains. However, a third car was reportedly washed away, according to a statement from Dubai Police.
Till late yesterday, efforts were continuing to locate and rescue the third car’s driver and occupants, if any.
The incident happened at Wadi Quer in Ras Al Khaimah.
Dubai Police’s Search and Rescue wing took part in the rescue operation.
“The Search and Rescue Department in the General command [managed to] save two cars washed in Wadi Quer in Ras Al Khaimah as a result of rainfall, while the search is still underway for a third car’s driver in the same place,” said a tweet posted by Dubai Police.
Heavy rainfall has also been reported in Hatta and Dubai Police has urged motorists and families to be careful.
“We request the motorists to drive carefully. Due to the heavy rain in the Hatta area, take care and attention to places where water is collected and drive carefully during the rain,” it said.
