Fog & Visibility Alert: Be careful on the roads

ABU DHABI 8 February 2020: The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), has urged motorists to take precautions as there is the chance of fog with poor visibility levels.

In a statement last night, NCM said that poor visibility is expected at times over some internal and coastal areas until 10:00 am Saturday.

Meanwhile, temperatures show a wide variance from a low of 5°C in the mountains to a high of 29°C in internal areas.

Saturday: Partly cloudy to cloudy and hazy especially westward. The relative humidity will increase during night and Monday morning over some internal areas. Light to Moderate Southeasterly to Southwesterly winds, with a speed of 18 – 30, reaching 38 km/hr over the sea. The Sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

Sunday: Dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy with a probability of light rain over coastal and northern areas by night and with a significant drop in temperatures. Moderate to fresh Southwesterly to Northwesterly winds, causing blowing dust and dust in suspension over some exposed areas, with a speed of 20 – 35, reaching 45 km/hr over the sea. The Sea will be moderate, becoming rough by evening in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea.

Monday: Dusty and partly cloudy to cloudy over scattered areas with a chance of some rain especially over coastal, northern and eastern areas with another drop in temperatures. Moderate to fresh Northwesterly winds and strong at times over the sea, causing blowing dust and dust in suspension over some exposed areas, with a speed of 25 – 40, reaching 60 km/hr over the sea. The Sea will be rough to very rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and rough in Oman Sea.
