DUBAI 18 September 2019: Dubai’s Global Teacher Prize winner, Kenyan Maths and Physics teacher Peter Tabichi, has met with US President Donald Trump in the White House.
Also present was Dubai-based Sunny Varkey, educationist and founder of the annual $1 million Global Teacher Prize.
It is awarded by the Varkey Foundation to a teacher who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession. Nominations of teachers who meet specific criteria are open to the worldwide public, and teachers can also nominate themselves.
Tabichi has dedicated his life to helping others. He gives 80% of his salary to local community projects, including education, sustainable agriculture and peace-building.
