Bride-to-be – Mina – dies in private plane crash

SHARJAH 13 March 2018: All 11 members of the hen-party of Turkish heiress Mina Basharan, have been killed in the private plane crash, reports confirmed.

A private plane crashed on Sunday evening in southwestern Iran after taking off from Sharjah International Airport en route to Istanbul.

It was carrying an all-women crew and friends of Mina, who was on a hen-party in the UAE before returning to Turkey to get married.

There were no UAE nationals on board, a statement from the Sharjah Civil Aviation Department (SCAD), said.

SCAD said the plane did not apply for maintenance procedures while on the ground of the airport, said Wam.

According to SCAD, a private 604 Pompadier Turkish TCTRB took off at 5:16 pm local time from Sharjah International Airport en route to Istanbul Ataturk Airport and disappeared from the radar after leaving the UAE at 7:30 pm.

The statement added that at the time of its departure, the plane had eight passengers and three crew members on board, six Turkish and two Spanish.

There are no clear reasons for the crash until official investigations by the Iranian and Turkish authorities have been completed.

SCAD expresses deep sorrow for the incident, and extends its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims.

UAE will provide information on Turkey-registered private plane crash in Iran: GCAA

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has learned that a private plane registered in Turkey has crashed in Iranian territory.

”The plane was en route from Sharjah in the UAE to Istanbul,” said the GCAA in a statement on Sunday.

The GCAA extends its sincere condolences to the families of the victims.

”The Iranian authorities will investigate this air accident and we will provide our support for the investigation as much as possible. We will provide more information regarding this air accident soon,” the statement added.
