It hit 8°C in UAE last night; Drive alert due to fog

ABU DHABI 22 December 2017: It was a chilly night last night in the UAE with temperatures dropping to 8°C in the mountain areas and to 12°C in coastal areas where most of the countries major cities are located.

Meanwhile, the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has called on motorists to be cautious about poor visibility on Friday morning.

In a statement on Thursday, NCM warned all road users about the chance of fog formation, which in turn could lead to poor visibility, less than 1,000 meters at times, especially over some western and central areas, from 11 pm last night till 10:30 am Friday morning.

For Friday, NCM forecast fFair to partly cloudy skies in general, hazy at times. Light to moderate winds. The relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over some internal and coastal areas, with a chance of fog / mist formation. Sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

For Saturday, it said it will be fair to partly cloudy in general, hazy at times with light to moderate winds. The relative humidity will increase during night and early morning over some internal and coastal areas, with a chance of fog / mist formation. Sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.
