Medical Fitness Certificate fees to triple from February

DUBAI 19 December 2018: Effective February 2019, the government fee for the issuance of a medical fitness certificate for foreign nationals seeking residence in Oman will be increased to OMR 30 from OMR 10, according to an announcement by the Ministry of Health.

It is expected that private clinics will also increase their fees for conducting medical tests (currently the charge is approximately OMR 20, according to immigration specialists, Fragomen.

Foreign nationals seeking employment and residence in Oman are subject to a medical examination before their residence permit is granted.

Additionally, select nationalities must conduct another medical test prior to obtaining an entry visa for Oman.
