Mohammed bin Rashid receives India’s PM

DUBAI 12 February 2018: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received yesterday, on the sidelines of the World Government Summit (WGS 2018), Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the visiting guest in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, said Wam.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Prime Minister Modi discussed boosting strategic cooperation between the two nations as well as a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The Indian Prime Minister’s visit comes as part of the two leaderships’ efforts to boost mutual cooperation in all areas. It also comes to follow up on the strategic direction that the two countries’ relationship is taking.

During their meeting, the two leaders discussed areas of cooperation between the two nations and ways to boost and develop them in order to meet the aspirations of their two respective peoples. The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues.

The meeting was also attended by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chief Executive of Emirates Group; Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs; Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director-General of Dubai Ruler’s Court; Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of the Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department, and Dr. Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Banna, UAE Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India.

India wants boost in economic, trade and investment cooperation

India is very interested in bolstering constructive economic, trade and investment cooperation with the UAE in order to serve mutual interests, stated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing a meeting of the Emirati-Indian business community in Dubai.

He said the UAE and India maintain exemplary friendly and constructive bilateral ties.

Narendra Modi delivered the keynote speech at the World Government Summit, for which India has been selected as guest of honour.

The meeting was attended by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, Dr. Anwar Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and a crowd of prominent Emirati and Indian businessmen and investors.

Speaking at the event, Al Mansour said trade exchange between the UAE and India – including oil – reached US$52 billion in 2016, making the UAE the key trading partner of India in the region.

The UAE, he noted, is the largest Arab investor in India.

He also spoke about the promising prospects for joint strategic partnership between the two friendly countries in various vital fields.

Indian officials gave presentations on the economic and investment opportunities and investment climate and legislations in India.

Modi Visits Museum of the Future

Indian Prime Minister visits Wahat Al Karama

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, visited Abu Dhabi’s Wahat Al Karama, the national landmark built to immortalise the sacrifices of the UAE’s brave heroes.

Modi was received by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Director of The Martyrs’ Families’ Affairs Office at the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court.

The visit began with the Honour Guard performing a ceremony, after which Prime Minister Modi laid a wreath before the Memorial – monument made up of 31 massive aluminium panels leaning on one another to symbolise solidarity between the people and the leadership of the UAE.

Accompanied by Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun, the Prime Minister of India toured the site’s prominent areas. He concluded his visit by signing the visitors’ log and lauded the UAE’s heroes for their noble sacrifices and inspiring bravery in the face of adversity.
