India’s largest industrial oils firm opens plant in Sharjah

Plant opens in Sharjah’s Hamriyah Free Zone

SHARJAH: India’s largest – and one of the world’s top – manufacturers of industrial oils has opened, this region’s largest such facility in Sharjah’s Hamriyah Free Zone.

Petroleum Specialities (FZE), a specialised manufacturer of industrial white oils, was inaugurated by Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority.

The plant is the first completely-owned subsidiary of its parent company, Apar Industries Limited, outside India. The 30,000 square-metre is fully-automated.

The opening was attended by Saud Salim Al Mazrouei, Director of the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA); Kushal Desai, Chairman and Managing Director of Apar Industries; and Sanjay Abhyankar, Vice President of Sales, as well as a number of government officials, investors, businessmen and senior directors from the HFZA and the company.

Al Mazrouei said that the plant will have a prestigious status in the Hamriyah Free Zone, as it is a subsidiary of India’s largest, and one of the world’s top manufacturers of special types of industrial oil.

“The inauguration of the plant, the first and largest of its kind in the region, which is expected to meet the demand for high-quality industrial oil products in the regional markets, is proof of the HFZA’s successful strategy in attracting international firms.

“This will inspire us to increase our efforts to attract more thriving investments from across the world to the Emirate of Sharjah. We will continue to improve our practices, services and facilities to achieve this goal,” he added.

Kushal Desai said that Petroleum Specialties FZE is the first 100 per cent Apar-owned plant outside India. It is a $18 million project, located on a 30,000 square metre plot in the Hamriyah Free Zone in Sharjah, with proximity to Hamriyah Port and Main Jetty. The developed area is 10,000 square metres. The plant is also equipped with a 1.4-kilometre jetty pipeline.
