Investor Alert: Eid Al Adha holidays for stock markets

ABU DHABI 27 August 2017: Financial markets will be closed from Thursday, 31st August 2017, to Sunday, 3rd September 2017, on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) announced in a circular on Saturday.

Trading will resume on Monday, 4th September 2017, said Wam.

The break is in pursuant of Circular No. (25) of 2017 issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) on the Eid Al Adha holiday.

It is up to the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange (DGCX) to decide when the holiday starts and ends according to requirements of work and public interest, the circular said.

On this occasion, SCA greeted the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses, the Supreme Council Members, and Rulers of the Emirates.

SCA also congratulated the UAE people and expatriate residents on the occasion.
