African woman was murdered in Dubai

DUBAI 23 April 2018: Dubai Police found an African woman murdered in her apartment – and prompt action led to the arrest of the killer in less than 24 hours.

Police said the crime was motivated by theft and financial dispute.

Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansoori, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of criminal research, explained that the command and control centre received a report on the death of an African woman in her apartment.

Immediately security patrols moved to the scene and conducted an initial inspection of the body. A criminal search and investigation team and other technical teams were formed to gather information. Information showed that the African woman was visiting Dubai, and there were money issues between her and the killer.

He killed the victim in the bathroom of her apartment by strangulation, stole her phone and her bag and fled to an unknown destination.

Search & Investigation

Lieutenant Colonel Adel Joker, Director of the criminal research department of the general directorate of investigation and criminal investigation, said that the general command of the Dubai Police commissioned all its field teams to conduct a quick search and investigation to detect perpetrators.

In less than one hour, using modern techniques at the data analysis centre, the teams were able to identify the perpetrator and his nationality. The murderer turned out to be a 32-Year-old Asian resident, and the field task forces were able to locate and arrest him.

The perpetrator acknowledged that he had escorted the African woman to her apartment, but had disagreed with her over money, killed her by strangulation, stole her cell phone and her suitcase, and escaped from the site.

He has been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action.
