DUBAI 9 May 2018: Dubai’s newest waterpark – Laguna – is set to open its doors on Saturday 12th May on the central promenade of La Mer.

The waterpark has four distinct zones – Splash, Slide, Surf and Relax – and will boast a host of rides, two of which have never been experienced before in the Gulf. As well as white-knuckle adventures, visitors will have the chance to relax in a hang-out that includes a pool lounge with swim-up juice bar and cabanas.

Ticket Price

Entry to Laguna will open with a launch offer of Dh99 for residents and Dh159 for non-residents, with unlimited re-entry – meaning visitors will be free to combine the waterpark experience with visits to La Mer’s beach and abundance of cafes, restaurants, shops and other attractions.

Core opening times are from 10 am until 8 pm.

Laguna Waterpark will feature a central Water Slide Tower with five rides; a comprehensive family zone with AquaPlay and Splash Pad; a WaveOz 180 Florider for surfing; a Lazy River; Pool Lounge; Cabanas; food & beverage kiosks and merchandise store.

Star Attraction

The WaveOz 180 will be the star attraction as the only one of its kind in the GCC and one of only three in the world. Nicknamed, ‘The Ultimate Surf Machine’, the Flow Rider is a competition wave which can be divided into multi-rider options and features body boards as well as stand-up boards – for the beginner, the professional or the adrenaline junkie.

The UAE National Flow Team, which dissolved in 2014, will reunite as ambassadors of the WaveOz 180, using the top facility to shred waves and practice stunts for performance shows and world Flow Rider competitions.

The central Water Slide Tower boasts five rides such as The Manta family raft ride featuring a thrilling 6m+ sheer drop, a first in the Middle East; a MEGA Sawtooth Constrictor slide; a Flatline Loop Body Slide; a Freefall Slide and Mat Racer slides.

Families can laze the days away meandering down the Lazy River or get lost in the magical AquaPlay, and no family area would be complete without a fun-filled Splash Pad for the little ones.

The waterpark will also feature a Pool Lounge with infinity pool and juice bar, plus 11 luxury cabanas where visitors can soak up the Dubai sunshine all year round. The park will be served by top-notch F&B outlets including a diner, kiosks and pool side café. The Pool Lounge and WaveOz 180 will also be available separately or together for after-hours private hire.

Andrew Keeling, General Manager of Leisure & Entertainment Assets at Meraas said; “Laguna Waterpark will bring something new to Dubai in terms of an accessible waterpark that is at the heart of a vibrant beachfront community. Everything about it is designed to be easy, and the fact that you’ll be able to play or relax at Laguna, as well as take advantage of the whole La Mer experience, means you can tailor a day out depending on your mood”.
