3-day weekend in UAE… October 2 holiday for private, public sectors

To mark Islamic New Year, 1438 Hijri

October 2, Sunday, will be a paid holiday for both public and private sector in the UAE to mark Islamic New Year, 1438 Hijri.

Official duty will resume on Monday, October 3, according to a circular issued by Dr Abdul Rahman Bin Mohammad Bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention and Chairman of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources. Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, meanwhile, declared Sunday an official paid holiday for all private sector employees in the UAE to celebrate the Islamic New Year.

Al Owais and Ghobash conveyed their greetings and blessings to the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and the Rulers of the Emirates, as well as citizens and residents on the occasion.
