A British man raped a little girl four times in just three months after threatening to kill her if she told her parents. The judge sentenced him to 17 years in jail, saying it is the saddest case he has ever handled.
Lee Ornstein, 29, was eventually caught in the Eastern UK town of Norwich after the girl plucked up the courage to tell her parents what had happened, ‘Metro’ daily said.
Judge Stephen Holt described the family’s statement as one of the “saddest he had ever heard.”
He told him: ‘No words can express what you did to that family.’
Norwich Crown Court heard the attack had an extreme psychological effect on the girl and had changed her personality.
Her family said he had taken away her childhood and left her suffering panic attacks.
Ornstein initially denied what he had done but eventually pleaded guilty to four counts of rape a girl under 13 between June and September 2014.
Detective Constable Holly Beevis of Norfolk Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Unit, said: ‘This was a terrible case which has had a profound impact on the victim and her family. The bravery she has shown in speaking to police must be commended.
‘We hope such a result will help reassure victims that we will always investigate any allegations of sexual abuse thoroughly and as a consequence bring offenders to justice.’
