LONDON 16 April 2018: Manchester City are Premier League champions.

The Blues’ third title was confirmed on Sunday as fierce rivals Manchester United suffered a shock defeat at home to West Brom.

City sit 16 points clear of United in the standings with just five games and 15 points left to play for, said Wam.

Pep Guardiola’s side had the opportunity to seal the title last week when they played the Red Devils at the Etihad, but squandered a 2-0 half-time lead to lose 3-2 and stretch the season out.

With 87 points from 33 matches, City win their first Premier League title since 2013-14 under Manuel Pellegrini and their third since 2008. It is City’s fourth top-flight title in their history.
