RTA raises Dh25 million in 96th open plates auction

DUBAI 2 October 2017: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that its 96th Licensing Open Plates Auction held on 30th September, had raised Dh24.8 million where 80 eye-catching plates were put under the hammer.

Four licensing plates acquired the lion share of revenues in the auction, which saw fierce competition between bidders hailing from the all community segments.

Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, said: “The Dh24.8 million revenue raised from the 96th Open Auction reflects the remarkable popularity of such commercial activity organized by RTA.

The licence plate number (R 111) has yielded the highest return of Dh2.65 million, while the license number (F 999) generated an income of Dh1.06 million. The license number (M 7777) was sold for Dh800,00, while the license number (N 1000) was exchanged for Dh800,000. The rest is covered by other distinctive plates.”
