Mercury tries to touch 50°C… but doesn’t quite make it

hit a cool 22°C in the mountains

ABU DHABI 19 June 2017: The mercury almost touched 50° Celsius yesterday… but did not manage to quite reach it let alone cross it, according to the data provided by the federal weather agency.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) charts show the highest temperature on June 28th was in the internal areas of the UAE hitting 49°C.

The minimum was a cool 22°C in the mountains.

The NCMS said Sunday was hot in general, and hazy at times. Some clouds may develop over the eastern areas by afternoon. Light to Moderate winds in general, freshening at times, especially towards west and may cause blowing dust/sand at times.

The relative humidity was to increase by night and early morning over the coastal areas, with a chance of mist/fog formation. Sea will be rough at first in the Arabian Gulf becoming moderate gradually by evening & moderate to rough at times in Oman sea.

The NCMS forecast is:

TUESDAY: Hot in general and hazy at times. Some clouds may form eastward. Light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times, may cause blowing dust/ sand over open areas.

The relative humidity will increase by night and early morning over some coastal areas. Sea will be moderate, rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

WEDNESDAY: Hot in general and hazy at times. Some clouds may form eastward. Light to moderate winds in general, freshening at times, may cause blowing dust/ sand over open areas.
