Dubai Mall decked up for Indian Festival of Lights

DUBAI 19 October 2017: The highlight of the inaugural Diwali festival at Dubai’s Bollywood Parks will be a performance by Mika Singh – the undisputed King of Bollywood Pop – tomorrow October 20.

Bollywood Parks claims to have created an “incredible array of vibrant entertainment and exciting activities” to mark the festival of lights. Starting from 16th October until 20th October.

Visitors to the park are invited to experience a variety of activities, shows and celebrations all inspired by some of the world’s most famous Bollywood films as well as a beautifully decorated park full of Diwali lights that will transport guests into a special journey from Dubai to India.

Mika Singh will be performing live at 10 pm on October 20th. Rooh, a UAE-based band that specialize in various genres such as Bollywood, Sufi, Punjabi and Western music, will be the opening act for Mika Singh. All included in Bollywood Park’s Dh95 entry ticket.

Guests will witness a beautiful light and fountain show, along with live dance performances on Bollywood superhits.

Complementing the festival, the park will be adorned with a blast of colored lights to signify Diwali and guests and families will be spoilt for choice at the Diwali Bazaar which features delicious Indian food and a variety of gift shops. While the adults enjoy the market, children will love exploring the rides and attractions offered within the park.

The finale of the Diwali weekend will be a spectacular firework display that will light up the sky on October 19 at 9pm and at midnight on the 20th October.

The park will host families and friends to celebrate the occasion in style, every day from 4pm – 12 am on 16th October until 19th October and from 11am – 12am on 20th October.

Dubai Mall celebrates Diwali

Celebrating the Festival of Lights, Dubai Mall is adding a splash of colour and a tonne of free activities this Diwali, from Friday, October 13, to Thursday October 19; bringing family and friends together to enjoy the occasion through dance, music, art and laughter.

With activities for all ages, visitors can enjoy classical and Bollywood fusion entertainment, or take part in Bollywood dance classes throughout the week, celebrating the vibrancy of Diwali.

A focal point for the celebration, a dazzling tree of lights with be located at Star Atrium, which will also showcase a range of traditional Rangoli sand drawings. Visit the stage between 6pm and 8pm daily to see the colourful art being created live on stage.

Locate the traditional Indian carts to find giveaways including scarfs, bindis, bangles, diyas, umbrellas and more; paint your own diya; or visit the Henna artists in Souk Atrium to see them create stunning designs.

Enjoy saree and turban tying demonstrations, as well as hourly competitions giving visitors the chance to try their newfound skill and win prizes!
