Saudi Air Force destroys Houthi ballistic missile

RIYADH 5 March 2021: The Official Spokesman of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen Brigadier General Turki Al-Malki, said the Royal Saudi Air Force has intercepted and destroyed Thursday a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects in Jazan.

“The terrorist Houthi militia is purposely escalating the deliberate, hostile, terrorist targeting of civilians and civilian objects using ballistic missiles and bomb-laden UAVs. These terrorist acts amount to war crimes,” he added in a statement.

The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition will continue to implement all necessary operational procedures to safeguard civilians and civilian facilities in accordance with the International Humanitarian Law, according to the Saudi Press Agency and Wam.

UAE condemns Houthi attempt to target Jazan

The UAE has strongly denounced the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militias’ systematic attempts to target civilians and civilian structures in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, with a ballistic missile, which was intercepted by the Coalition Forces.

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MoFAIC) on Thursday, the UAE said that the continued threat of these attacks in recent days is a grave escalation that represents “new evidence of these militias’ attempts to undermine security and stability in the region.”

MoFAIC reaffirmed its full solidarity with the Kingdom over these terrorist attacks and reiterated its stance against all threats to the Kingdom’s security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The statement emphasised that “the security of the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are indivisible, and that any threat facing the Kingdom is considered by the Emirates a threat to its security and stability.”

Arab Coalition foils Houthi drone attack

Meanwhile, Joint Coalition Forces intercepted and destroyed on Thursday morning an explosives-laden drone launched by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia towards Khamis Mushait, Saudi Arabia, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
