Mohamed goes on a static luxury cruise… in Dubai

DUBAI 27 January 2019: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,  visited the Italian cruise ship MSC Splendida at Port Rashid (aka Mina Rashid) in Dubai.

The captain welcomed His Highness and briefed him on the various facilities the gigantic cruise ship offers, where more than 1,300 staff members work round-the-clock to cater to the needs of the guests and guarantee a smooth travel experience.

Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the hospitality and openness of the UAE as a friendly tourist destination that welcomes tourists from different nationalities. Sheikh Mohammed pointed out that tourism is an important element in attracting tourists, visitors and investors. He added that creating a tourist-friendly environment is essential to sustain economic growth and open new horizons of cultural exchange between nations.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of the Emirates Group; Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai; Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai; and Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) along with other officials.
