Move to install fire alarms in all Sharjah public housing

Sharjah gets Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and NFC payments

SHARJAH 17 October, 2018: A memorandum of Sharjah Directorate of Housing on installation of fire alarm systems in public housing, was reviewed by Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), yesterday.

Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of Directorate of Housing, pointed out that the project is aimed at installing fire detectors and fire alarms in the directorate’s ongoing public housing projects.

Al Tunaiji also highlighted the importance of coordinating with the General Directorate of Sharjah Civil Defence and stressed that the Directorate of Housing works constantly with several concerned entities to ensure the implementation of the project.

Al Tunaiji presented a number of recommendations regarding the installation of early-warning fire system in homes.

New Roads

The council also discussed the proposals made by the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority regarding the development of road infrastructure in a number of areas and cities within the emirate through the provision of required services. This comes in line with the SEC’s keenness to provide the best services to road users in the emirate’s various cities and regions.

Electronic Payment Services

The Sharjah Finance Department on Tuesday launched two new electronic services with the aim to better serve decision makers, government departments and the public.

The newly launched services include the digital payment packages for the Smart Receipt System ‘Tahseel’, which include payment through Samsung Pay and Apple Pay, in addition to the availability of contactless payment via NFC, and the possibility of payment through instant chat, which is available in the smart application (Chat Bot).

Sharjah Finance Department, during its participation at the GITEX, also introduced an application entitled: “Ready Your Excellency”, which is a digital application designed to serve the Heads and Directors of all Government Departments in the Emirate of Sharjah.

“Ready Your Excellency” app allows direct inquiries with specialists in the Finance Department regarding some financial procedures, and response to such queries is possible within one working day, thanks to the new application. This application also contains an electronic map of government departments and entities in the Emirate of Sharjah, through which the financial statements of government decision makers for a particular government entity can present through budget statements, revenues, expenditures and fiscal deficits.
