RIYADH, KSA 9 March 2023: Rapid intervention teams in Madinah managed on Wednesday, March 1st, to save the life of a Pakistani pilgrim whose heart stopped beating for more than 10 minutes.

Madinah’s Health cluster said that medical teams received a call about a 70-year-old patient who was suffering from loss of consciousness at the Prophet’s Mosque Plaza, where paramedics diagnosed the case as cardiac and respiratory arrest.

CPR started at 11:20 am – according to protocol – with the use of electric shocks, to restore a pulse and pump more oxygen.

After a successful run, the patient was transferred to AlSafia center to complete further treatment until his situation stabilized, said a statement.

The pilgrim left the center and was recovering at his hotel.
