New regulations for hiring Emiratis in private sector

DUBAI 23 May 2018: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) has announced a new resolution regarding the regulation of the employment of Emirati nationals in the private sector in the mainland.

The new law sets out procedures that must be followed by companies for the employment and termination of UAE nationals, including the submission of an end-of-service interview report to determine the reasons for concluding the employment relationship, according to global immigration specialist firm Fragomen.

Regulation details

According to the announcement, an orientation program will be offered to new hires to ensure their awareness of rights and obligations for employment in the private sector.

Mohre will introduce a mechanism for monitoring the status of employed citizens, including enrollment in the national pensions scheme, and for ensuring that employee work-related complaints are properly addressed.
