Newbury to host Dubai International Arabian Races today

19 runners vie for prize money of £193,000

LONDON 30 July 2017: The ever-popular Dubai International Arabian Races (DIAR) returns to Newbury Racecourse on Sunday with an eight-race card of some of the finest racing for Purebred Arabian horses on the planet.

With the Group 1 PA Shadwell Dubai International Stakes headlining what is sure to be an outstanding day of racing, there is plenty to keep racegoers entertained off the track too with a variety of activities and competitions on offer throughout the day, said Wam.

The 36th DIAR will see 19 runners vie for prize money of £193,000.

The event is being held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance.

The Group 2 PA Emirates Equestrian Federation International Stakes has received a 20 per cent boost and is now worth ?25,000, and the day’s featured Group 1 PA Shadwell Dubai International Stakes increased by ?3,000 to ?58,000. The Jebel Ali Racecourse Za’abeel International Stakes and the Shadwell Arabian Stallions Hatta International Stakes, both Group 1 PA events, increase from ?32,500 to ?35,000.
